Small Groups Ministry

Woodvale Pentecostal Church is a growing Multicultural Church with over 60 nationalities worshipping the Lord Jesus together. At WPC, we believe that as the church grows larger in celebration, it should grow smaller (Small Groups) in fellowship and relationships.

In order to provide proper care for church families, we have in place our Small Groups Ministry by which people can be nurtured through Thematic and Biblical studies, Fellowship, and relationship with one another. Also through the Small Groups we build relationship with our neighbors by inviting them to these home gatherings. By doing this, we accomplish the act of evangelism and therefore multiply in numbers.

Currently Woodvale Pentecostal Church has over 40 small groups all across the Ottawa region from Kinburn (west), Kemptville (south), Orleans (east), Aylmer (north), and throughout the city.

There are varieties of topics being studied in different groups. Some groups are also involved in ministry projects such as Downtown Ministry (Evangelism), Helping-Hands, etc.

What is the philosophy of the Small Groups ministry?

• Since everything in life revolves around relationship, we believe that the most important relationship is our relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore the result of a right relationship with Jesus will be a right relationship with fellow men and women.
  
• The church should grow larger in order to have a dynamic celebration, and remain smaller (Small Groups) in order to care properly.
• Small Groups Ministry is the heart of Woodvale Pentecostal Mission. This can be traced throughout our "Church Mission Statement" (below).
  
• Small Groups are a biblical concept. In the book of Acts chapter 2:41-47, we see a clear picture of small groups in operation.
  
• We believe as the Sunday large-group gathering becomes the all week scattered small-groups throughout the city in different homes, people grow in their relationship with the Lord and one another.
