THE STORY

In August 2010 a team of 13 people from Woodvale Pentecostal Church are going to Uganda to lend a hand to the auspicious work that Watoto Church and Child Care Ministries are doing

We first came in contact with Watoto through their traveling choir that goes all over the world to raise financial support for the work happening in Uganda. Watoto Child Care Ministries was birthed out of Watoto Church (formerly Kampala Pentecostal Church) as a proactive response to the humanitarian crisis that the devastation of HIV and War in Africa and specifically in Uganda has created. Through this initiative the church has recognized that in order to make a real difference in the midst of the devastation of HIV, the rebuilding of the nation has to start with holistic, residential care of one child at a time and the re-education of these orphaned and vulnerable children.

One day the story of Africa's AIDS orphans and war-affected children will fill entire history books with stories of social disorder economic crisis, and horrendous tragedy.

However, through the love of Jesus and your support and partnership we believe that we can have a part in transforming this story as a new generation of leaders is raised up to rescue a continent from ruin.
